Nisswa's Annual Lighting Ceremony is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Following a countdown, all of the business downtown light up their holiday lights at 5:30 pm. Activities begin at 2 pm and include bonfires, s'mores, hot cider, horse-drawn wagon rides, storytelling, food, carolers, holiday bands and a visit from Santa Claus. Santa arrives by fire engine at 6p.m. and fireworks at 7:30p.m. wrap up the festvities. 

Love Lights A Tree celebration takes place right next to the chamber building where an evergreen is lit with shining lights, each light donated in memory or honor of a loved one.  All honorered names are read aloud during the lighting ceremony at 5:45p.m.
