| Celebrate the 26th annual "Northern Friends" fiesta on Sunday, August 14, 2005! Join in the fun to support Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (Our Little Brothers and Sisters) homes for orphaned and abandoned children in Latin America and the Caribbean. The benefit fiesta starts at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mathias Park and includes great home cooking, roast turkey, games for all ages, sweepstakes prizes, a silent auction, and more!
Father William Wasson founded Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos in 1954, and the organization has since grown to serving almost 3,000 children at homes in nine countries: Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru. Many local residents help this effort by sponsoring children at the homes, volunteering at special events, or traveling to the homes to do building and repair work. |
