Winter in Minnesota is welcomed more with every flake of snow and each inch of ice. Afterall, without an abundance of snow and ice we wouldn't be able to partake in the many winter activities we know and love. The Brainerd Lakes area hosts a number of Winter events each year to celebrate and highlight these winter activities:

Sertoma Winter Wonderland - November 26 - January 2
This spectacular, new holiday tradition includes a driving tour of more than 60 colorfully lit displays that are sure to add a sparkle of excitement to the eyes of families throughout the Lakes Area. The excitement begins on Thursday, November 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving Day!). Winter Wonderland will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. through 1/2/10. The Holiday Village, featuring Santa Claus and concessions, will be open Thursday, November 26 and then on Friday and Saturday nights through December 26 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Winter Wonderland will also be open for walking tour nights on Tuesdays, December 8 & 22, 2009. |

Crosslake Dog Derby - February 27-28, 2010
The 2010 Crosslake Dog Derby will be held February 27 & 28, 2010 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. A 15-mile race course has been established.
Classes include: Unlimited Class; 12 or more dogs; 10 Dog Open; 6 Dog Pro; 4 Dog Pro; 4 Dog Sport; 4 Dog Junior; Skijor Pro.
All sanctioned by the International Sled Dog Racing Association and North Star Sled Dog Club. |

Gull Lake Frozen Fore - March 5-7, 2010
The Gull Lake Frozen Fore is a winter fest held at area resorts and restaurants on Gull Lake. At each of our 9 locations (Bar Harbor, Cragun's, Ernie's on Gull, Grand View Lodge, Kelly's, Matty's, Quarterdeck, Zorbaz on Gull and Hole in the Day Bay) you'll partake in a family-friendly winter activity such as sledding, shooting hockey pucks, golfing in the snow, and snow bowling. Then jump on your snowmobile or shuttle to your next location. |
