2008 Gull Lake Frozen Fore

March 1- 2, 2008

Sledding, shooting hockey pucks, golfing in the snow, and snow bowling are amongst the family-friendly winter activities that make the Gull Lake Frozen Fore one of the most exciting winter events in the Lakes Area. Snowmobile or shuttle between 9 different resorts and restaurants on Gull Lake as you participate in these winter challenges.

Over 350 participants joined the 2007 event, helping to make it a success. Make 2008 your year to explore the cool, winter fun at the 3rd Annual Gull Lake Frozen Fore when it begins on Saturday, March 1, 2008.

On Sunday, March 2, back by popular demand, is the 2nd Annual Frozen Fore Food Fest at Hole-in-the-Day Bay. At the Food Fest, you can warmup with food and refreshments as you continue playing games.

This event is organized by a volunteer committee. Registration for the Gull Lake Frozen Fore is $30. Proceeds from this winter fest event are donated to three area charities: Confidence Learning Center, Ski Gull and the Blue Line Club.

The 2008 Gull Lake Frozen Fore, the world's largest golf and snowmobile event, is sponsored by Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coca-Cola, US Foodservice. Sponsor Locations for fun and games around Gull Lake include: Bar Harbor, Cragun's, Ernie's on Gull, Grand View Lodge, Kelly's, Matty's, Quarterdeck Resort, Zorbaz on Gull and Hole-in-the-Day Bay.

Confidence Learning Center
Confidence Learning Center is a year-round outdoor education and recreation facility for persons with developmental disabilities. Confidence Learning Center is a registered non-profit 501c3 that receives no local, state or federal funding. They rely solely on individual and corporate donations as well as fundraisers.

Ski Gull
Ski Gull operates a registered non-profit 501c3 facility that receives no local, state, or federal funding. We offer skiing, snowboarding and tubing in one convenient location. Helping our community to become a better place to live has been our guiding principle for over 40 years. Ski Gull’s mission is to provide challenging activities in a fun and healthy environment which empowers youth to develop confidence, competency and compassion through the development of outdoor recreational programs and opportunities for our area youth and families.

Blue Line Club
The Blue Line Club is a non-profit fundraising organization for our local High School Hockey team, the Northern Lakes Lightning. The Lightning is comprised of high school students from Pequot Lakes, Pine River, Aitkin and Crosby-Ironton. Our home ice is the Breezy Point Ice Arena located minutes from Minnesota's premier Vacation destination. Built in 1998, Breezy Point is also home to the Pequot Lakes Youth Hockey Association, which plays a vital role to the success of our facility and surrounding community. Today, there are over 140 youth hockey players.
