The Northland Arboretum in Brainerd is a favorite and you'll often see the high school ski team trekking through the woods. Crow Wing State Park - Historic site of Crow Wing fur trade village. 10 Km. 39-K. 9 miles south of Brainerd on Hwy. 371. Take a right by Crow Wing State Park sign. Follow signs into park.
Northland Arboretum - Varied terrain through jack pine savannah, marsh and prairie. 19 Km. 2 Km. Lighted trail. 35-0. West of the Mississippi River on Washington St.
French Rapids Cross Country Ski Area - Scenic area adjacent to the Mississippi River.
16 Km. challenging. 8 Km. for skate skiing 31-S. On Hwy. 210
Breezy Point Resort - 15 Km. 22-P. From the Brainerd Water Tower travel east on 210 through Brainerd to the junction of 210 & 25 north. Turn left at lights and head north on 25. Go through Merrifield. About one mile out of Merrifield the road splits. Stay to the left. The road you will be on is #4. Follow this north all the way to the gates of Breezy Point Resort. Aitkin No Achen Trail - Winds around several small lakes and through forests, bogs and meadows. 14 Km. 26-HH. Intermediate to Expert. Approx. 1 1/2 miles west of stoplights on Hwy. 210 to Cemetery Road, then approx. 3/4 mile south

Boyd Lodge Trail - 9 Km. 17-Q. From Brainerd Water Tower travel east on Hwy 210 to Hwy 25. Go north on 25. After Merrifield take CR 6 through Crosslake to Moonlight Bay. Take left on CR 16. Travel approx. 2 1/2 miles on 16. On right side of road sign saying Silver Peak Road turn right. 1/4 mile to parking.
Pine Beach Trail - Rolling-hilly terrain through pine and hardwoods, adjacent to Pillsbury State Forest. 40 Km. 34-I. North of Brainerd on the Pine Beach Road.
Larson Lake Trails - 20 Km. 32-CC. 3 miles west of Deerwood off CR 10.
Mille Lacs Kathio State Park - Historic site of battles between Indian tribes. Rentals. 31 Km. All levels. 48-HH. East of Brainerd in Onamia.
Spider Lake Trail - Fairly rugged terrain with many small lakes and potholes.
24 Km. 15-AR. From the Brainerd Water Tower go west on Hwy 210 to the junction of 210 & 371. Go north on 371 30 miles to Pine river, turn left on Cass County Hwy 2 and go 12 miles. Turn left into parking lot at the Spider Lake Ski Trail sign.
Cut Lake Trail - Scenic trails wind around lakes and adjoins Food Hills State Forest. 17 Km. 15-A. From the Brainerd Water Tower travel west on 210 to the junction of 371 and 210. Go north on 371 to Pine River. Take left on County Rd. 2. Travel 10 1/2 miles west on CR 2. It will be on the north side of the road.
Upgaard Wildlife - Management Area. Trails are not kept groomed. From the Brainerd Water Tower travel 210 west through Brainerd to the junction of 371 N & 210. Head north on 371. Travel approx. 25 miles to Pequot Lakes. Go 1 mile north of Pequot Lakes and turn right on County Rd. 16. Travel for 8.7 miles. It will be on the right side of the road.
Rock Lake Campground - 5 Km. 31-F. Southwest side of Gull Lake off Cty. Rd. 1 in Pillsbury State Forest.
Washburn Lake Solitude Area - Woods with gently-rolling hills, lakes, streams and marshlands. 24 Km. 8-X. Off Cty. Rd. 48 in the Land O' Lakes State Forest, Outing
Hiram Skiing Trail - From Brainerd Water Tower travel west on 210 to the junction of 371 & 210. Take 371 north to Hackensack. Go north 2 more miles on 371. Then go west on County Road 6 for 6 miles. There will be a sign along the road.
Deep Portage Ski Trail - 18.2 Km. From the Brainerd Water Tower head west through Brainerd on 210 to the junction of 371 & 210. Go north on 371 to Backus (40 miles). From Backus drive to MN Hwy. 87. Head east on 87 for 8 miles. Then 3 miles north on 84. Then 3 miles NW on Co. Rd. 46. Look for signs.
