Food Shelf Challenge
Brainerd/Baxter CANstruction Home Contest & Food Shelf Challenge
Bring your donation and win! Tuesday April 14th 2-7 pm
You are invited to bring a food and/or cash donation to the Edina Realty office for a food shelf challenge between Brainerd and Baxter city mayors. While both cities
will be winners, the least successful Mayor will get to deliver all the donations to the food shelf.
Also, view the “CANstruction Home” created and donated by Edina Realty agents and guess the dollar amount invested to construct the home. The closest guess will win a $50 gift certificate to Cub Foods Brainerd/Baxter.
In a company-wide challenge, to help raise donations for the local shelves, Edina Realty offices state-wide, participated in the “CANstruction Home” contest, and the Brainerd office placed 2nd!

Brainerd Salvation Army Food Shelf
The Salvation Army food shelf in Brainerd distributed 210,233 pounds of food and hygiene in 2008 this was up from 197,053 pounds that was distributed in 2007. The need in our area has increased due to the poor job market and the increased cost of living. We see many people who are working but that their hours have been cut, we see many more who have been laid off and can not find new employment. The food shelves get stocked from people who donate food, and also from food purchased from the food bank. Food is purchased from the Second Harvest food bank from money that is donated from the community.
