Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota (https://www.pcamn.org/) is a 29 year old organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect by promoting positive parenting, healthy families and supportive communities. Each year, we serve nearly 2,500 parents and children from across Minnesota and help hundreds of communities and organizations to build stronger systems for preventing child abuse and neglect. Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota is a chartered affiliate of Prevent Child Abuse America (www.preventchildabuse.org).
Our Circle of Parents® program offers support groups for families. Community-based, parent-led and volunteer-driven, we use an innovative and results-focused national model focused on mutual self-help, empowering parents and facilitating local community solutions to child abuse and neglect. All programming is designed to build on existing family strengths and to preserve important family bonds. In Central and Northeastern Minnesota contact Joan Johnson (jjohnson@pcamn.org) to find out more about creating a Circle of Parents® group in your community!
Our Community Prevention programs offer videoconferenced trainings broadcast to locations throughout the state, annual prevention gatherings in each of the state's 7 regions, an annual statewide conference, a monthly prevention e-newsletter and quarterly print newsletter, and free and low-cost printed prevention brochures and bookmarks. We are focusing on sharing Wakanheza information with communities to create welcoming environments for children, youth and families.

Our mission: promoting positive parenting, healthy families and supportive communities.
